Upcoming Training Course | Forecasting with Time Series Methods | London, 13-14 March 2013

This two day course aims to give forecasting practitioners the fundamental skills necessary to apply different forecasting methods, automate demand planning, and improve their accuracy in the key areas of:

● Organisational forecasting and its importance.
● Time series algorithms: learn all 12 variants of Exponential Smoothing, plus other Benchmark algorithms.
● Solving common problems: How to select the right model? How to find good parameters? When to switch from models to judgment?
● Evaluating forecasts: how to measure accuracy and develop robust KPIs?

The course will use hands-on training exercises using MS Excel, including templates for the most common forecasting methods, and real-world data. No prior statistical skills are required, only some practical business experience in forecasting.

WHY CHOOSE OUR COURSES?
● Professionalism: LCF has over 15 years of experience in delivering first class forecasting education to practitioners, as well as students and academics. Courses are designed and taught by professional trainers and educators, not consultants. All in our team have substantial teaching experience in developing courses, defining achievable learning objectives and choosing the right learning modes up to a university level.
● Expertise: All trainers are experts in their respective areas of forecasting, both on the latest level of theoretical research but also implementing it in real projects with leading multinational companies. This ensures you can always transform the results of our latest theoretical research into practice.
● Course Design: Guaranteed small teaching groups of approx. 10-12 students, in contrast to 20-40 in other courses. This allows us to work with you hands-on using real data, running resource intensive hands-on exercises in MS Excel and specialised forecasting tools.
● Resources: In addition to presentation material handouts and MS Excel template-solutions including popular forecasting methods (readily implemented for you to use outside the course), each participant will receive a complimentary copy of the latest forecasting book Principles of Business Forecasting by Professors Robert Fildes (a course leader) and Keith Ord.

TARGET AUDIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED?
No formal background in statistics or mathematics is required - this is an introductory course to business professionals that covers the fundamental aspects of forecasting in a "maths-lite" and hands-on way. Attendees should have practical forecasting experience and be able to work in Microsoft Excel. Attendees with a more numerate background will be able to develop a deeper understanding of algorithms and properties of forecasting methods.

Past course attendees include: Sanofi Aventis, NHS, Beiersdorf, Bayer, Celanese, British Gypsum, UK Department of Work, Barclays, Capita Dixons, NightFreight, Scottish Power, Booths, DWP, Philips, etc.

DATE & LOCATION?
The course will be held on March 13-14, 2013 at the Work Foundation in London (SW1H).
